Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A type of machinery which can carry loads which are around 30,000 lbs is a forklift. A forklift is also called a counterbalance. Despite being sturdy and large, these industrial machinery still carry the possible risk of crash or accident. To be able to be safe, be sure to have operators wear the right seat belt inside the forklift and make certain that up to standard safety features are also on board. We all know that seat belts could save lives in the event of an accident.
Three-Point Seat Belt
The kinds of seat belts that could extend both across the upper body and over the lap are the three-point seat belts. These kinds of belts provide an extra safety degree by protecting your body. They are offered in both bench-seat and buckle-seat styles. The 3-point seat belts are available in either retractable and non-retractable types.
Retractable seat belts are commonly used in most modern vehicles on the market. Though non-retractable styles increase safety, retractable styles provide more comfort. It is not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to extend accidentally.
Lap belts
The type of seat belt which only extends over the lower part of the body is a two-point lap belt. Most lap belts feature a push-button closure system and are non-retractable. In order to secure the seat belt, just press on the belt button and then the two sides will separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The kind of seat belt which forces a forklift operator to put on a seat belt is a circuit-closed seat belt. These kinds of seat belts have a micro-switch attached which enables an alarm to sound if an operator starts a vehicle and is not secured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both non-retractable and retractable lap-band kinds.
