Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is made for lifting and lowering loaded pallets from high storage spaces. This type is recommended for work places with narrow spaces between aisles, such as retail establishments or warehouses. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires which make maneuvering easy.
The operator of this particular kind of forklift usually stands up inside a small cockpit. The stand-up design enables the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift usually has three tires: one in the back, and two in the front. This configuration allows for easy and fast maneuvering. There are several models of these forklifts which are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment can pivot to the sides, allowing the lift to be operated without the operator having to reposition the entire machine. The sit-down version normally has four wheels.
An electric engine is used to power many narrow aisle forklifts. Machines that are electrically powered do not produce exhaust fumes and are quiet, making them the suitable choice for closed places such as retail spaces. Some lifts come with a diesel engine or a gas engine. However, the diesel model is not suggested for indoor use since it can produce exhaust and be noisy.
