Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names like: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of machinery are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit while they transport loads. The Rider model on the other hand, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and transport unstable or tall loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider could be the perfect answer if you are searching for an inexpensive method for transporting loads from point A to point B. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the best alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is specially designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which can operate in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely handy pieces of equipment during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
