What is the Distinction between Cushion Tire and Pneumatic Tire?

One of the most popular questions regarding this type of machine is determining the distinction between cushion tire forklifts and pneumatic tire forklifts. Each and every tire type is specially suited for different requirements.

Pneumatic Tires have air in them, like vehicle tires. These tires are great for indoor use but they are more effective on uneven and gravel surfaces and in outdoor "yard" applications.

Cushion tires are made as a solid industrial tire that is used mainly for indoor applications. These tires are able to be used outdoors on just asphalt surfaces. If you do drive cushion tires outside, there is an option to get traction tires on the front of the machine. These are known as the drive tires. The back tires or the steer tires are particularly designed for steering. Traction tires located on the forklift's rear will just wear out faster. Hence, if you do need to work outside, having the smooth tires on the rear and traction on the front will be the safest and most economical way to operate.

What is the distinction between Solid Pneumatic and Air Pneumatic tires?

It can be quite tricky when trying to determine the main distinction between the two tire types. They would work well in both in asphalt and gravel situations. The main distinction between the two tire types is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means you cannot pop, gouge and puncture them because they are strong. These kinds of tires are more expensive compared to air pneumatic tires since they are made up of way more rubber. These types of tires are best suited for locations like scrap yards and lumber yards where there might be a lot of sharp things and debris on the ground.

Air pneumatic tires could be punctured accidentally. When this occurs, you could get flat tires from them. Before using a forklift with air pneumatic tires, inspect your work space and be sure that the yard is free of debris, sharp metals and nails. In the majority of applications, regular air pneumatic tires work great.
