Genie Knuckle boom lifts are strong four wheel steering and four wheel drive capable machines which allow work to be completed efficiently, even when the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system that enables the user to easily calibrate the equipment and its components. System diagnostics are available in many languages. There are dual fuel options available on the Z-80/60 model. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is quiet, but turbocharged. It allows for better performance at higher altitudes. It also carries more than enough torque for better terrain- and grade-ability.
The 4-wheel drive ability and full-time positive traction adds enhanced traction for tough terrain. The Z-135/70 just offers four-wheel steering. Optional features on this unit comprise crab, coordinated, front wheel, and rear wheel steering to give the machinery extra agility. The full-time active oscillating axle helps enhance wheel contact on uneven ground. All of these features make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts easier and smoother to utilize on irregular terrain.
Although these units are bigger compared to other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features like continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with remarkable range of motion and reach. The Z-boom design gives the units outstanding up and over positioning capability which varies from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 model to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 unit. The XChassis expanding axle is an ingeniously designed mechanism used for both retracting and extending axles in and out of stowed position. When the axle is stowed the width of the Z-135/70 unit equipment is only 2.46 meters. For easier transport, the Z-80/60 has fixed width axles.
