The type of vehicle normally found inside factories, warehouses and various work locations where moving heavy materials from one location to another is necessary is called a forklift. The mast is the mechanism located on the front of the forklift that hydraulically lowers and lifts the load. The "cat" is the protected area where the driver of the forklift sits.
Forklifts are capable of lifting loads between one and five tons in weight. Some types could be utilized to lift shipping containers and much heavier loads.
The tires of a forklift should be checked and maintained frequently. The kinds of tires on different forklifts differ based on factors such as ground surfaces, frequency of use and load weights. Each and every driver of a forklift should have access to a forklift jack, tire press and replacement tires.
Tire Maintenance Instructions
Carry out tire inspections regularly. Watch for signs of wear and damage to the tires. If the wear on the tire exceeds 40%, it must be replaced.
When you buy tires, be sure you purchase the correct type - polyurethane, solid or pneumatic.
When you have to replace the tires, the forklift jack must be positioned under the tire. You can easily change the tires if you raise the forklift high enough.
You can use the tire press to pull the tire from the rim and remove the damaged tire. Install the new tire and secure it properly. If you are changing more than one tire and you have only one jack, lower the forklift, then reposition the jack at the next tire.
A repair company can provide on-site tire repair. If the tire is extremely big for both in-house and mobile tire presses, the damaged tire must be transported to a shop which has a stationary tire press.
