Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries in 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to lower and raise the hoist. This mechanism really impressed clients and thus, the name was established.
Genie has moved into many new markets, because the demand for work platforms and lifts grew. Over time, when the demand for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for example, Genie went into manufacturing man-lifts, articulated booms, light towers stick booms and telehandlers.
Due to the economic recession in the beginning of the 2000s, Genie decided to secure a partner who had the same values. They partnered up along with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring equipment manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie equipment continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their customers. The company is devoted to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering outstanding support. These are the very work practices that have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
The DC and Bi-Energy machines provided by Genie provide emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the machine should be driven significant distances, such as in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator with the advantages of a 48V DC machine.
As opposed to any of the different types of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are great for limited access areas in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These equipment provide supreme traction and the drive speed you need to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
